La dipeptidil peptidasa IV (DPP4), también conocida como CD26, es un tipo de serina proteasa que descompone el segundo residuo N-terminal de prolina o alanina de la cadena peptídica. En los organismos, la dipeptidil peptidasa descompone rápidamente la incretina, lo que estabiliza los niveles de insulina y promueve la reducción de la glucemia. El principio de detección de este kit reside en que la DPP4 descompone el sustrato y libera la sustancia fluorescente AMC. La actividad de esta enzima puede inhibirse añadiendo un inhibidor de DPP4. La actividad de la DPP4 se calcula mediante la diferencia del valor de fluorescencia antes y después de la inhibición.
