El CD194, también conocido como CCR4, es un receptor de quimiocina CC. Se une a CCL17 y CCL22 y se expresa en un subconjunto de células T y B, basófilos, monocitos y células NK. Las células Th2 humanas se caracterizan por la expresión de CCR4 y CCR8, y estos receptores se regulan de forma diferente durante el desarrollo Th2. Los Tregs de sangre periférica humana se pueden dividir en dos poblaciones distintas según la expresión de CCR4. Los Tregs recién aislados expresan CCR4 y presumiblemente representan Tregs de tipo memoria, mientras que los Tregs CCR4- requieren la activación mediada por CD3 para adquirir actividad reguladora. La disminución de las células T CCR4+ provoca la polarización de tipo Th1 de las células T CD4+ y el aumento de las respuestas de las células T CD8+ a los antígenos tumorales. El CCR4 y sus ligandos son importantes para el reclutamiento de células T de memoria en la piel en diversas enfermedades inmunitarias cutáneas.
